It’s been coming for a while. We first heard in March that it was on the manner back, and in May the beta was launched.
Activision describes it as free to play, although in-app purchases range from $0.99 to $99.99, so it remains to be seen how much of the game you can play without buying COD Points effectively.
That extra content includes new game modes, customization gear, and more. The company claims the more people playing the game will unlock the more free benefits.
