The Mac Pro ‘s 8 TB SSD option comes at an extra cost of $2,600 compared to the 256 GB base model. The 8 TB upgrade in the 16-inch MacBook Pro costs $2,400 more compared to the 512 GB base tier for the sake of comparison. For those who keep track, this will bring the 2019 Mac Pro’s maximum price to $53,799.
Apple also lists two additional options for the Mac Pro graphics card that will also be available soon:
- Radeon Pro W5700X with 16GB of GDDR6 memory
- Two Radeon Pro W5700X with 16GB of GDDR6 memory each
In addition to these graphics card options, the Mac Pro’s rack mount version will still be listed on Apple’s website as soon as possible. Nonetheless, how “soon” this option will come is still unclear.
The Mac Pro was not originally announced as having an 8 TB configuration but Apple also secretly added it to the Mac Pro when the 16-inch MacBook Pro was released with the option.
