The report says BOE’s negotiations with Apple were successful, and by 2021 it will supply more OLED panels than LG.

For both iPads and MacBooks, BOE already manufactures LCD screens.
Back in 2017, it was first reported that BOE was pitching Apple for OLED orders, with this year’s February report that Apple was considering. A subsequent report reinforced the idea that BOE was investing in the same OLED engineering next-generation as Samsung.
Apple wants to diversify its supply chain, one of the reasons it has sponsored rescue efforts for Japan Display, another possible supplier for future iPhone OLED screens. So in the next few years, both Chinese-made OLED screens and Japanese screens are likely to be on the cards.
