Apple today released the first beta of a new macOS app called Reality Converter. This app allows developers to convert, view, and customize objects from USDZ 3D on Mac, says Apple. USDZ is the type of augmented reality file used by Apple.
Reality Converter is designed to be used in conjunction with Reality Composer, which is Apple’s tool to allow developers to prototype AR experiences and produce content. Reality Composer was introduced at WWDC in June, alongside the RealityKit framework. The aim is to make 3D content easier for developers to integrate into their apps.
The new macOS Reality Converter application gives developers the ability to convert, view and customize USDZ objects with support for drag-and-drop, preview capabilities and more.
