The guys at DXOMark have released their full review of the camera system for the iPhone 12 Pro. All in all, Apple’s latest LiDAR Scanner triple-lens camera array has earned a score of 128, putting it in the top five of the list of best smartphone cameras for DXOMark.
The score includes a “Picture score of 135” and a “Video score of 112,” all of which endorse the case of the iPhone 12 Pro, DXOMark explains. On the other hand, because of its zoom features, the iPhone 12 Pro took a hit:
For still photography, DXOMark praises the iPhone 12 Pro’s autofocus system:
In terms of the iPhone 12 Pro’s video features, DXOMark said this is where the device really shines.”
Here’s how the top DXOMark smartphone camera rankings break down now, with all that in mind:
- Huawei Mate 40 Pro – 136
- Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra – 133
- Huawei P40 Pro – 132
- iPhone 12 Pro – 128
- Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro – 128
- Vivo X50 Pro+ – 127
- Oppo Find X2 Pro – 126
- Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G – 126
- Honor 30 Pro+ – 125
- iPhone 11 Pro Max – 124
As well it is important to bear in mind that the methodology and reliability of DXOMark’s testing is often challenged and disputed, but that’s because the quality of the camera is subjective and it is difficult to assign a “score.” This is especially true as there is no fixed scale and scores rise well above 100.
